Restorative yoga creates a spaciousness within, conducive to healing physically and emotionally. You begin with gentle stretching and tuning into your breath. Then you move into restorative postures, where your body is supported by props (such as yoga blankets, bolster). As you relax into each position, you let go of chronic tension, coming into balance and a sense of peace. Julia trained in restorative yoga with Judith Lasater, becoming a Relax and Renew teacher, and with Jillian Pransky and Carolyn Sudeen. She incorporates restorative yoga into her classes, workshops, and private sessions.
“I feel as though I’ve been on vacation in the Bahamas after taking Julia’s restorative workshop.”
