Julia's Yoga Career
After 25 years in academic publishing, Julia turned her attention to sharing with others her love of yoga. In 2000 she trained in Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, after which she trained to teach yoga through Integrative Yoga Therapy. Prior to the pandemic, she taught and did yoga therapy sessions in an intimate yoga studio in her home in Weehawken, NJ, as well as in New York City and Hoboken, NJ. For now most of her teaching is via zoom, save for private clients in her home.
Julia completed yoga therapy training through Integrative Yoga Therapy and Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, and is certified through the International Association of Yoga Therapists. She has additional training in restorative yoga, yoga for osteoporosis, reiki, herbal medicine, and yoga for heart health. From 2009 to 2013, Julia taught a 200-hour yoga teacher training as an affiliate of Integrative Yoga Therapy, and for the past eleven years she has offered trainings for yoga teachers in chair yoga, mudras, and provides private consults for yoga teachers. As a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Practitioner (YACEP) she is able to provide CEUs for her yoga teaching workshops. |
